Inside the Rio Grand Valley Arts Studio, behind the main office, down the hall a ways and on the left hand side of another hallway you will find my classroom. Once you walk in, right in front of you is a new mural I’ve started, with the help of some of the students. Within this room I have begun to teach art in a variety of ways to children ranging in ages from 3-14yrs. The classroom atmosphere is set for an open studio. I want my students to be able to create something they enjoy working on. This helps them focus and remain dedicated to the project at hand.
Learn MoreThis spring my students and I were asked if we could find the time to paint a wall inside Harlingen Medical’s Emergency Room lobby. We said yes! This page will be dedicated to showing the progress of our efforts.
I would like to thank the parents for bringing their children out to the hospital to volunteer their time and talents in an effort to make children visiting the hospital feel as comfortable as possible. I am extremely happy with the student turnout for our first working day. All of the kids did great work and were very focused on their individual tasks.
